Fair questions

Straight answers, no small print. If yours isn’t here, email hello@finchmoney.co.uk — a person reads it.

Will Finch give me real financial advice?

Finch gives you serious, impartial financial planning and guidance — what your priorities should be, in what order, and why. It doesn’t give regulated financial advice today, which means it can’t make specific, personalised product recommendations.

Regulated advice is on our roadmap, so we hope to be able to help you with even more in the future, but in the meantime there’s plenty we can do to help you meet your goals.

Is Finch regulated?

Not yet. Finch is planning and guidance, designed and built with the FCA’s expectations in mind, with regulation on our roadmap.

Is £15 a month worth it?

Traditional financial planning costs £1,000s a year, which is exactly why most people will never get it. £15 a month is the price of having a plan, a clear head, and someone to think decisions through with. One avoided bad decision tends to pay for Finch for years.

Is this just ChatGPT with a coat of paint?

No — general chatbots can help you ask better questions about your money; Finch helps you act on the answers. Finch builds and keeps a living plan around your goals, remembers your situation, checks in weekly, and does exactly one job. A chat window forgets you; a planner doesn’t.

When can I get access?

We’re opening access in waves so we can look after every new client properly. Join the list and we’ll email you when it’s your turn — most people won’t wait long.

Is Finch iPhone-only?

To begin with, yes. We’re a small team, but we’ll launch on Android as soon as we can. Let us know if this is important to you by emailing us!

Can Finch move my money?

No. Finch can’t touch your accounts, move money, or buy anything. It suggests; you decide; nothing happens without your say-so.

Do I have to connect my bank accounts?

No — not at launch. Finch works from a conversation: you tell Finch what’s going on, and that’s enough to build your plan. Secure account connections are on the roadmap, to make keeping your plan current even easier.

Do I need savings for Finch to be useful?

No — Finch starts wherever you are. If the right first step is clearing an expensive debt or building a small buffer, that’s what your plan will say.

What if I am already wealthy?

Finch works whether you’re starting from zero or sitting on six figures. It earns the same £15 a month either way, so it has no reason to treat you differently. That’s the point: traditional planning charges a percentage of your assets, so existing wealth is exactly what it selects for.

“The rest of us” isn’t a wealth cap — plenty of people with plenty of money want a proper plan without percentage fees or a product sale.

And if your affairs are genuinely complex — estate planning, a final-salary pension — Finch will say so plainly, because sometimes being on your side means telling you a human planner is worth paying for.

What happens to my data?

Your financial data is stored securely in the UK. Voice recordings are stored for up to 30 days, and that’s in the EU. Where processing happens further afield — AI processing can involve the US — it’s protected by UK GDPR safeguards. Your data is used only to run Finch and is never sold.
